November

This has been a long month! We have been all over Brazil! We've flown to Sao Paulo, Brasilia, and Belem. On the 14th we drove to Ribeirao Preto airport. We were going to a mission training for my parents. They had sessions on learning how to do storying. We flew out of Ribeirao Preto to the Sao Paulo airport. We got to Sao Paulo and then we flew to a place called Belem. Belem is a city in the north or Brazil. I had never been there before so I didn't really know what to expect. All I knew was that it was extremely hot and always rainy. Which it was!!

We arrived at 10pm after leaving at 3pm. We weren't so tired though. We got to the place where we were going to stay. It was like a little house with enough rooms for twenty people. It was very hot and there were many mosquitoes!! I had to put on bug repellent every day!

While my parents were in class, my brothers and I hung out at another missionary's house. They had kids about our age and we would play after they got out of school. There was a gym there at the place we stayed at and we would play basketball and soccer at night. The mks were really kind and spoke English. All the kids went to a English school in the middle of this little campus.

They had many types of fruit up north. Especially there where we were! There was this one little fruit that looks sort of like a blueberry but it tasted nothing like one. It was FRESH Acai it was very good! They had ice cream made of it and it was the best fruit I'd ever tasted! We have it here in Ribeirao too but it's a bit more expensive.

While I was there I had a very bad allergic reaction to something I got back in Ribeirao Preto. We think it might of been two different things, Mango skin or a chemical burn from a cleaning solution. The chemical burn was all over my face and it itched really bad. (THANKS TO A GIRL IN SCHOOL WITH ZERO MANNERS)
The reaction from the mangos were on my arm and spreading down my back. We didn't know what to do so we decided to go to a hospital because I couldn't stop itching it! We went to the hospital and they said I would have to have two shots one in the vein and one in the muscle. I didn't really mind having the shots because I really wanted it all to get better so I got the shots and I went home and now it is all better!!!

While I was there I stood 15 feet from the Amazon river!!! We went down to the docks the night before we flew out and that was awesome! We woke up at 2:30am on Saturday morning! Got to the airport in Belem at 3am and we were off on our flight for the same course back home! We had a great trip and I was glad that we were able to make many new friends and experience what Brazil truly is!

Being tomorrow is Thanksgiving we are going to get together with all of our American missionary friends and have a big Thanksgiving dinner at my house! I can't wait because we are going to have a turkey and a ham! Plus our last days of school are coming to a end! We get out of school December 17 but all the regular class are over on the 3rd!! We just go to school the rest of the days to hang out! Then after that It's CHRISTMAS!! My grandparents are flying down to celebrate with us! I really can't wait!

Test Week

This week is our test week! I hate tests especially when they are in Portuguese! Some of them I don't take because its so hard to translate them and others I just try my best on. I love math tests and English tests but all the other ones are hard to do because you can't understand the classes. I wish I could learn Portuguese faster and get to Sao Luis. But at least I'm learning much better and I can understand my friends now! Next week I'm going to try to have my first Brazilian friend over. He's basically been my best friend while I have been down here. The good thing is he isn't a Christian so I can share with him! Please pray I keep getting along in school with my classmates and keep learning Portuguese.

Hanging out with Center Point

Last week my church family (Center Point Church) came down on a mission trip!! We had an awesome time with them! It was great to have a little break. I was able to help them work on some repairing on a roof at Haven of Hope Children's Home as well! Before we started working on the roof I decided to have a snack!
Yes, it's real and alive!!!!
I also got a chance to be a translator while I was there and I was amazed how much I actually knew!!To top off the great week we all went to the best churrascaria !!! By the way a churrascaria is a place where they bring out non-stop meat!!! After being here for five months I was still overwhelmed!!!
I can't wait till I see them again.

Brazil lost!

Brazil has a really good soccer team but this year they didn't do so well. The other day Brazil lost 2-1 verses HOLLAND!! I was amazed because, I thought that Spain or Portugal would beat them but Holland!?! All of Brazil went extremely crazy when they lost!! People scream at the t.v. and the people from Argentina shot off fireworks because they were so happy that now they don't have to play them in the World Cup!!! Too bad that Argentina lost the next day!
Well, now that Brazil and USA are out of the world cup I guess I'm going for Uruguay!?! Hopefully they can win it! It was once in a lifetime chance to be able to see Brazilians act like that!

Our Eyes Can Betray Us

Alright, imagine you were walking around a park and you had the to use the bathroom and there was no other place to go except a port-a-potty. The only thing wrong with this is that it's no ordinary port-a-potty. Here is a photo of the outside of it.
When you finally get the nerve to go in you expect it to be a normal bathroom but you quickly realize this is no normal bathroom. Everyone is watching you and sees you about to do your business! At least that is the way it would appear to you. Here's a photo of the inside. What would you do?!?
What if you went to the bathroom on an airplane and you looked down to the floor and it looked similar to this!I'd forget about using the bathroom and sit back down in my seat and maybe take a little nap.

A little about me

I'm a twelve year old American boy that lives in Brazil. I have two little brothers Jackson and Jayden. My favorite hobbies are playing baseball, fishing, and creating things out of wood with a knife. I'm going to school in Brazil trying to learn Portuguese so I can tell the people here about Jesus Christ.
I'll use this blog to tell about my adventures and share the cool things that come across my path during this time.
